If you’re an avocado lover (like me) and get excited about trying out different variations of this beauty superfood, than I’ve got a treat for you in store – queue 11 delicious ways to eat avocados.

Avocados are extremely versatile and have a host of health benefits that make them the perfect addition to any recipe to boost their nutritional content.

These creamy textured beauties are high in ‘good’ fats that are non-cloggy and easily digestible so don’t let the word fat put you off!

Did you know: avocados have their own antioxidants and can improve the absorption of antioxidants from other fruits and vegetables when eaten with it?

With that said, I’ve put together a few delicious ways to eat avocados so you can add them to your diet and reap their endless benefits.

1. On toast

Avocado is a great substitute for butter and other store brought spreads. You can simply mash it to form a paste or slice it using a knife or nifty avocado cutter and put it on your toast. Try this avocado toast recipe with different variations to entice your taste buds.

2. In smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to add avocados to your diet especially if you’re not so keen on the taste of them. They’re a clever, fun way to mix different ingredients with your avocados that you wouldn’t normally eat together. Make sure to invest in a high-quality blender to extract all the nutrients for a mega health kick.

3. Eat it as it is

This is possibly the easiest and most effortless way to eat an avocado. Just add salt, your favourite seasoning(s) and drizzle with olive oil. If you want to step it up a notch, add a little avocado oil to squeeze in a little extra avocado goodness.

4. Mashed avocado

The mashed avocado is also a no fuss way to eat avocados. Simply mash with a fork and add some lime, seasoning and a dash of oil. If you want a little sweet treat, add sugar instead and enjoy a creamy 1 minute dessert!

5. As a salsa

Salsa’s are one of my favourite ways to bring life to my wraps and side dishes. Try a herby avocado salsa by mashing an avocado and adding tomatoes, onions and your favourite herbs such as coriander and parsley.

6. Stuffed avocado

Stuffed avocados are a delicious way to get nutrients and some of your favourite ingredients. You can bake the avocados or leave them untouched like this 15 minute, mouth-watering healthy shrimp stuffed avocados.

7. In guacamole

Classic and simple, guacamole is possibly the most popular wide used avocado recipe and a top favourite in wraps, burritos and chip dips. This guacamole recipe is deliciously creamy and bursting with flavour, it’s impossible to hate!

8. Grilled avocado

Grilled avocados done right could be a new staple on bbq days! It’s a great way to keep its creamy consistency whilst adding a light char to it. How about trying this grilled avocado with veggie ceviche to turn you into a believer.

9. In a salad

Ohh a meal that can be interpreted in so many ways! Salads are a great way to add so many nutrients at once to your diet and adding avocados really brings it to life. Not only that, but their fat and fibre content could make it a pleasant wholesome meal by keeping you fuller for longer. Besides, let’s face it, bland salads are boringgg!
