As the air starts to get crispier and the leaves start to change colour, that can only mean one thing. Autumn is just around the corner!
The fall season is like a breath of fresh air.
Making the transition from the warmth of those long summer days to cooler mornings and longer nights means it’s time to re-evaluate and start fresh.

1. Go for a walk in nature
There’s nothing quite as beautiful as seeing the ground scattered in brown, yellow and orange hues during autumn. Even if you’re still trying to hold on to summer, it’s hard not to appreciate those fallen leaves.
Put on your boots, wrap yourself warm and enjoy the fresh air. A little 30 minute walk will have you feeling refreshed and uplifted. Get out there, collect leaves, take pictures and just enjoy nature!
2. Take a scenic autumn drive
I love a good drive during fall to lift my mood and take in natures little show.
Grab your people and go on a mini road trip to document the seasonal changes. Don’t forget to bring some snacks and good energy only!
3. Embrace the seasons festivities
Embracing the seasons traditions can improve your social self-care and get you in the fall mood.
You can go camping because fresh air, spooky stories, camp fires and marshmallows right?
Visit a pumpkin patch because what’s autumn without a few pumpkins?
Or gather some friends and go for a fun hour of apple picking and get yourselves some scrumptious fresh treats in the process.
4. Go on a coffee date with friends
Schedule a coffee date with your friends or family and make a day out of it! I love a good catchup and surrounding myself with good energy. It’s a therapeutic form of self-care that can help soothe any mood regardless of what you’re going through.

5. Enjoy warm drinks
To be honest with you, I like my hot drinks all year round but a touch more in autumn. I love cosying up on my balcony in the mornings in my fluffy robe, cosy slippers, a steaming cuppa in hand and 10 minutes of uninterrupted pure bliss.
Enjoy your hot drinks outdoors or indoors and truly savour the aroma and warmth! It’s a touch of TLC that’s comforting no matter where you are or what time of day it is.
You can try making the all too famous pumpkin spiced latte or a delicious mug of hot cocoa (with all the trimmings … ofcorse). If you’re anything like me, you could try a refreshing and soothing herbal tea blend to clear toxins and provide a sense of calm and harmony to your mind and body.
6. Get baking
I’m not much of a baker, but when autumn hits, I’m a Michelin star chef. I’m talking apple pies, pumpkin bread, chocolate and cranberry cookies, all the works!
Baking is a creative way to express yourself and keep you focused and de-stress which is great for mental self-care. Plus, what’s not to love about that distinctive freshly baked taste and the heavenly aroma that fills up in your home.
7. Have a lazy day in
Yes, a lazy day counts as self-care! Sometimes doing the bare minimum is exactly what you need to rejuvenate and reset. So pull out your favourite pyjamas and rest, I mean, why get dressed when you don’t have to? Snuggle up infront of the telly, order a take away or do whatever counts as rest for you. Try doing this once a week and you’ll notice the difference in your energy levels (and sanity!)

8. Re-organise your space
A change of season presents the perfect opportunity to reorganise and breathe new life to your home and belongings.
Your home should be a calming refuge and, as the saying goes, a clear space creates a clear mind:
• clear away your summer wardrobe and replace it with warmer clothes.
• go through every room and get rid of unnecessary stuff.
• clean the the clutter on your phone.
• organise your work space, paperwork and mail box.
• dig through your bag and minimise all the junk, yes, ALL OF IT!
9. Redecorate your home
Redecorating your home to fit each season can be super refreshing and uplifting. You don’t have to do anything too drastic as such, just a few simple changes and touches here and there could really enhance your space and your mental wellbeing.
Here are a few ways you can bring the autumn feels indoors:
• add splashes of warm autumn hues of reds and oranges.
• get a diffuser and fall essential oils to make your home smell lush.
• spruce up your walls with autumn posters.
• add some gorgeous home decor and accents to get all the autumn aesthetics!

10. Grab some new fall accessories
I love updating my wardrobe accessories and lippy to get me in the fall mood! A chunky new scarf paired with new boots is all I need to get me excited to leave the house.
Choosing your signature fall style and dressing for the occasion can really boost your confidence and make you happier and more excited for the season.
11. Update your skincare routine
This time of year can play havoc on you skin. The cool and dry air will naturally make your skin drier and dehydrated and those lightweight moisturisers during summer will no longer cut it.
I personally love this HydrateMe set as it ticks all the autumn and winter skincare needs by offering increased moisturisation and hydration.
Also, unless you dig the whole chapped look, don’t forget about your hands and lips. Invest in an ultra moisturising set like the Burt’s Bees set or the O’Keeffe’s winter essential pack to help soften and calm flaky hands and lips.
And remember, just because the sun isn’t as strong this time of year it doesn’t mean it’s not there. So don’t forget your SPF, this is your holy grail and year round best friend!
12. Take a warm bath
Give me a long soak in a warm bath and I’m as relaxed as can be. I can literally feel the tension being pulled out of my pores.
Gather your favourite bath products, light a scented candle and add a touch of luxury to your day. It’s self-care at its finest!
13. Light a scented candle
I LOVE scented candles and even make my own from time to time!
Everything from the smell to the warm glow adds the perfect ambience to treat your senses and uplift your mood. They are without a doubt THE perfect home fall accessory to get you in the seasonal mood.
This is the time to experiment with different fall scents because let’s be real, pumpkin spice doesn’t quite hit the same in summer!
14. Read a new book
I love a little cosy up on the sofa, park or the coffee shop with a good read. Books are a great way to escape reality for a while and stimulate your mind.
Pop over to the bookstore/library or download a new novel on your device and make time to read atleast 30 minutes a day.
15. Embrace the Hygge season
This may be one of the snuggest autumn self-care tips on this list, especially since the cooler days means we’ll be spending more time indoors.
Slip into a pair of comfy slippers or fluffy socks to keep your toes nice and toasty. Invest in a luxurious robe or wrap yourself in cosy blankets for extra warmth.
The feeling of cosiness and relaxation in the comfort of your own home is essential to your autumn self-care routine.

16. Stay hydrated
Hydration isn’t just for summer or hot days, it’s essential for your overall health all year round. It’s so much easier to forget to drink more water during autumn and winter as we don’t naturally feel thirsty. However, during this time the air tends to be drier so it’s even more important to stay hydrated every day.
17. Protect your immune system
Autumn is the time to start taking extra precautions to support and strengthen your immune system. With the weather bound to get colder, those pesty cold, flus and bugs are just itching to get their hands on you!
I recommend taking natural supplements like these SuperBoost Vitamin and Mineral shots as well as making homemade ginger shots for a powerful boost to your immunity and energy levels.
18. Slow down and just be
Autumn truly is the perfect time to slow down and get your mind and body attuned. Learning to be present and savour moments is focused self-care that can really increase your wellbeing.
Try sit in silence or meditate for a few minutes and find value in listening to yourself and blocking out the noise around you.
I also like to sit in the midst of nature and embrace the changes around me, it really does wonders to centre and humble me and practice self-reflection.
19. Write in a journal
The stress and anxiety that comes with colder seasons can be daunting and take its toll on your mental self-care.
A gratitude or mind journal helps you to appreciate things more and have a positive outlook on life. It takes a lot to realise your strengths, progress and blessings on your own and that’s where a journal comes into play. It’s not always the easiest form of self-care as it means being a little more vulnerable to your deepest feelings but it’s super rewarding.
Invest in a high quality journal like the Five minute journal and take a few minutes each day to write your thoughts, feelings and gratitudes. This will give you more clarity, help with daily reflection and release the load of any worries you have.

20. Enjoy a movie night in
If there’s one thing about autumn that gets me all giddy it’s movie nights! Gather your family or friends and arrange a cosy movie night in. Make it extra special. Turn down the lights, ramp up the ambience, bring out the blankets and arrange an array of delicious snacks. For extra points, opt for a spooky movie to really bring out the autumn chills!
Remember, selfcare is a year round thing and essential to keep you focused on being a better version of yourself.
