Here's why Babbel is the best language learning app out there

The courses and lessons

Babbel breaks down its courses into short and easy digestible lessons that offer interactive language learning for even the most beginner level. They teach the most specific and most used vocabulary and phrases for each language so you can get up and running with simple conversation skills from the get go. Depending on the payment plan you go for, the lessons become more advanced as you go along including targeted and customised language learning for your chosen language and culture.

Each lesson is about 10-15 minutes long for flexible learning and broken down into a variety of unique and immersive teaching techniques. These styles include listening, speaking, writing and matching sentences to the correct meaning as well as ordering sentences together. This level of interaction helps you to familiarise yourself with the vocabulary and perfect the pronunciation. You’ll also receive a score rating at the end of each class so great for those who love a little self-competition.

Learn about the culture

The great thing about Babbel is it actually teaches you about the culture as you go along. They make you fully aware of special occasions and how the country celebrate it, what to do or not to do in the country and how traditions work.

The teaching method

For an app, Babbels teaching style is very immersive and at times it feels like you’re learning in a live class. I love the little warning signs and pop-ups they give you such as ‘Heads up!’ when they want to make you aware of something or put emphasis on the most important grammatical points. Also, after each couple of lessons or so, there’s a review lesson which helps to gather everything you’ve just learnt which definitely comes in handy.

Quality takes centre stage

The quality of Babbel is definitely second to none! The app offers such precision that it’s difficult to go wrong. I love the way they repeat things learnt in earlier lessons in other lessons helping to prompt familiarity and making sure you don’t forget important vocabulary. The repetition isn’t boring or tedious which is great if you’re someone who hates going over something again and again.

Attractive pricing and plans

The pricing is incredibly generous for what you get. I’m not one to pay for language learning lessons, but the subscription prices are too good to pass. Their monthly subscription allows you to pay every month, three months, six months or annually with a discount the longer the plan is.

I personally like to pay annually as I have a long term goal to learning a few languages and it beats paying for live lessons any day! You learn in your own time, you’ve got plenty of time to take as many notes as you’d like and all in the comfort of your own home.

The Babbel language learning app is possibly the best all round language app out there. It offers lessons designed by linguists, combining innovative, interactive, convenient and flexible learning all at a great price. Whether you’re a complete beginner or need some more advanced lessons Babbel has got all bases covered. You can try out Babbel for free today or unlock a paid subscription to take your learning to the next level.
